Welcome to LIT.taxi, a platform operated by Orounin Technologies that connects passengers with licensed taxi drivers in Aruba. By accessing or using our service, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the LIT.taxi web app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the service.

2. Eligibility

This service is available exclusively for use within Aruba. Passengers must be of legal age to request rides, and drivers must possess a valid taxi permit issued by the appropriate authorities in Aruba.

3. Service Overview

• For Passengers: LIT.taxi allows you to request taxi rides based on your location, number of passengers, and any special needs (such as luggage or wet seats). Ride requests are offered first to nearby drivers and gradually extended to drivers further away until accepted.
• For Drivers: Upon accepting a ride request, you are required to provide a pickup time estimate via the app. Upon arriving at the pickup location, you must notify the passenger through the app. You are responsible for completing the ride and updating the app with dropoff details. Payment for the ride is handled directly between you and the passenger; LIT.taxi does not process or charge commission on these payments.

4. Subscription and Payment

• Subscription Model: Taxi drivers must subscribe to LIT.taxi to receive ride requests. The cost of the subscription is USD 24 or AWG 42 for 15 days, and USD 48 or AWG 84 for 30 days.
• Refund Policy: If a driver is blacklisted or banned from using the app, they will receive a refund for the remaining time in their subscription period.

5. Driver Requirements

• Document Verification: Drivers must submit valid taxi permits and other required documentation during registration and periodically thereafter for verification.
• Conduct: Drivers are expected to maintain professional behavior. Repeated complaints regarding rudeness, unsafe driving, or other violations of conduct standards may result in being blacklisted or banned from the service. Orounin Technologies reserves the right to determine the criteria for blacklisting or banning drivers from LIT.taxi.

6. Service Availability

LIT.taxi is designed for use within Aruba and may not be accessible outside this region. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available or uninterrupted. Orounin Technologies reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

• No Liability for User Actions: Orounin Technologies is not responsible for the actions or conduct of passengers or drivers using LIT.taxi. Any disputes arising from interactions between passengers and drivers must be resolved directly between the involved parties.
• Service Provided “As Is”: LIT.taxi is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

8. Consumer Protection and Transparency

Orounin Technologies commits to transparency in all transactions. All subscription fees, conditions for refunds, and the process for canceling services are clearly outlined in this document. Any changes to these terms will be communicated to users in a timely manner.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

At LIT.taxi, passenger privacy is a top priority. We do not collect any personal data from passengers using the app. Passengers remain entirely anonymous during their interaction with the app, meaning no identifiable information such as names, phone numbers, or email addresses is stored or processed. The app solely uses location data temporarily to match passengers with nearby taxi drivers, and this information is not stored after the ride is completed.

For taxi drivers, we do collect and store necessary information such as identification documents, valid permits, and contact details. This data is kept secure and is only used for the purposes of verifying eligibility to use the service, compliance with Aruban regulations, and improving service quality.

10. Taxation and Financial Regulations

In accordance with Aruban law, any financial transactions related to subscriptions must comply with local tax regulations. Orounin Technologies will ensure transparency in all billing and payment processes.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property associated with LIT.taxi are owned by Orounin Technologies and are protected by applicable laws. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the app in accordance with these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

Orounin Technologies reserves the right to update these Terms of Service. Any changes will be posted within the LIT.taxi app, and continued use of the service after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
